Evelyn is 6 weeks old today! Wow, that flew by.
Marci and I bought our first “real” camera a couple of weeks ago, the Olympus OM-D EM5, and I have been busy learning to use it. Up until now, we just used our trusty point and shoot Canon SD1200IS, which has been great, but lacked the sensor size to shoot anything decent indoors. Now that we have a nice camera, I have been taking pictures of Evelyn just about every day, and posting the good ones on the BLOG in her collaborative album.
I purchased a cheap toy lens for 30 bucks that attaches to our fancy new camera, and I have been having fun learning to do everything manual. The lens used to be for a closed circuit television camera but has an adapter that allows me to use it. The depth of field is crazy on it, it seems to have a soft focus at best, and it is certainly a lot slower to operate than the auto focus lens that our camera came with, but, it creates some interesting images. They have that warm and snuggly feel that just works well with baby pictures.
