  1. Hey Chad and Marci,

First off, congratulations on your wedding! You guys are an adorable couple.

I came here via the Cayo Espanto facebook group. My girlfriend Melissa and I are getting married in July 2012, and one of the places we are considering for our honeymoon is Cayo Espanto (well, I should say I am – while she has her head buried in the wedding planning department, I have been tasked with the honeymoon planning 🙂 ). I have to say that after reading of your stay at the resort, I am even more enthused about this place.

I just had one question for you guys, and I hope I’m not being too forward in asking. Based on your experience, what would you say I should expect a Cayo Espanto honeymoon to cost, beyond the initial package price. Right now, I’m looking at about 5 – 6 nights, which will run me about $7 – $8K, based on the info quoted on their site. Was the resort truly all-inclusive, or were there additional fees? Again, I hope you don’t find me out of line in asking. I’m just trying to put together a realistic budget for this potential adventure. 🙂

Anyway, thank you in advance for any information you may be able to provide, and again – congratulations! 🙂

    Regards,

    Sean

    1. Hey Sean,

Thanks for stopping by! The resort really is all inclusive. Howevr, there are extra excursions that you can buy. We did 2 days with fly fishing guide for $300 each half day (I believe.) We also tipped our guide 50-100 each day. If you plan on drinking wine, that is seperate as well. We usually ordered a bottle with dinner in the 20-30 dollar range. Extra massages are 100 an hour I believe. We both opted for an additional massage (in addition to the one that came with out package.) Other than that, a tip for your housemen at the end (I think we left 300-400.)

Cayo Espanto was an amazing experience and one that we will never forget. I can not think of a better honeymoon destination!

      Take Care,
      Chad
